What are your signal levels like? anything between -10 and -15 can keep the cm from syncing. Different modems operate on their own....i have one or two that refuse to lock on anything less than -10 and some that will run on -17.

A signal like this is about as pretty as it gets. I bypass the rest of the house with a run of quality RG6 from the tap to my Cm.

Frequency 555000000 Hz
Signal To Noise Ratio 40.0 dB
Power Level 0.6 dBmV
The Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested. Please Reload/Refresh this Page for a new reading

Upstream Value
Channel ID 2
Frequency 29600000 Hz
Power 43.4 dBm

This is what I have:

Frequency 681 MHz
Status Locked
Annex DOCSIS

Modulation QAM256

Symbol Rate 5360537 sym/sec
Receive Power -19.2 dBmV
Signal to Noise ratio 31.8 dB

Upstream

Frequency 36 MHz
Channel ID 2

Status Ready

Mode ATDMA
Symbol Rate 5120000 sym/sec
Transmit Power 54.0 dBmV

What you think of it?
This is what I get. I don't know if this is close to the real speed of the cfg file as far as speedtest goes when doing a test.

just what I thought...

your modem is deaf. Fix your signal. Do what i did if you can. Too many splitters between you and the tap.

I'll do that sometime this week. Thank you Southernyankey1970.

Receive Power -14.5 dBmV Marginal but doable. Config file has nothing to do with the signal quality.

good job. the closer to 0 db the better.

I was mentioning the config file regarding speed testing on Speedtest.net. By the way, is a speedtier cfg suppose to be fast or "special". Or is reserve for higher monthly subscription?
Never mind the question, I found the answer on Cable Inside Scoop.
