It didn't take. I tried via the web gui, telnet/tftp, and no luck. Maybe bad image? Any other ideas?
Via Telnet it starts reading blocks and finally gives up and says it cannot open the bin file.
Uploading it via the gui fails because it says its not a valid file...

It seemed to have taken the new one , yet now its not doing anything and I cannot access it at all with tftp , the gui over IP or anything. Is there a way in via usb or is this thing bricked?
It looks like I am all solid and one light blinking on PC status.
This has happened before and it came back , but cannot remember what I did to make that happen.

Heads Up I have also just tried the OneClick Drew posted on another similar thread and it appears to only work via ip/telnet which is unreachable at this point because its not pingable.
Will JTAG work on this if I do all that? Or is this thing bricked for good?

jtag should bring anything back baring hardware faults, tho if you have a ttl cable handy i'd try that first

Okay.; Thanks . This is what I have now and this is what I want to achieve if possible. I already have a rs232toUSB adapter (commonly used to connect to cisco routers) With a normal console pinout on the serial side. Having said that, Should all I have to do is solder on a male serial port onto the jtag pins on the modem?

your rs232 should do fine, here's the pinout (the one on the right)
