Modem doesn't work after virgin upgrade

You normally can run two modems off a splitter. You need a HFC MAC from a different CMTS{Multiple nodes feed into the CMTS.} than the one you are on. If you use a mac address from your node it will connect and appear to work at first. However there will be a conflict with the other modem and he will loose his registration. Once the other modem realizes it can't communicate it will reboot and sync back up again, causing your modem to reboot... Basically your modem will continually reboot over and over.
