What if to try SB5101 Docsis 2.0 with haxorware and set MAC from box which don't use cert (if I find such box)? I read that many systems still have old cable modems that do not support BPI+ and so operators will enable BPI+ in its most limited mode. In this case, modems that support BPI+ will be required to register with BPI+, but modems that do not support BPI+ will register in BPI mode or with no encryption at all. Should this work in theory?
the theory sounds fine but i have to ask how is this different than just using the mac from an old modem as the certs and whatnot are incorrectly signed anyways (ambit200 and below i think)
i'm basing the above on the fact when i first started this years ago i modded a dpx100 and even now and through all the security it's still going strong and has never gone off (and if i ever run into an other subbed dpx100/120 i will always write down the mac as i know they always work with haxor)
but then my bit of the network does have a lot of old modems on it
