hello how are you and i will tell you any body that wants a sb 5101 to work you will need to jtag it serial port from computer to sb5101 board

EJTAG is better but serial port can do some little job.
Only JTAG can flash bootloader.

Region in flash Image1 or image2 you can dload from TFTP ip-addr name.bin
Then do command copy_image 2 1 - to copy from img2 to img1.
I did that do. (SB5101-2.11.0.0-GA-04-597-NOSH from this thread)
After this modem works fine, but I cant connect from terminal to serial port as it was before =( so JTAG is needed.
