RE: SB5101 ugd to 16m Ram - drewmerc - 22-11-2009 it should just work RE: SB5101 ugd to 16m Ram - donkey01 - 23-11-2009 Any Specific Brand/Model number of chip that works the best? I've tried 3 differnt Nanya NT5SV16M16AT chips (32Meg 16 bit by 4 bank out of an old laptop) and Could not get them to work(modem would not finish booting) I've already put back the stock memory chip and works just fine, so I know it's not the modem. I have a hot air rework station and am capable of replacing the chip just fine. Not sure if I just had a bad/wrong chip. Anybody have any favorite confirmed working brand/model of chip other than the one's previously mentioned in this thread? RE: SB5101 ugd to 16m Ram - drewmerc - 23-11-2009 it's about sb5100 but info still the same Quote:About memory hardware modding:anyways there lots of info on sbhacker just search for pc133 RE: SB5101 ugd to 16m Ram - donkey01 - 23-11-2009 Great! I'm thinking I may have spiked the chips (ESD) while in transport. I'm currently waiting for a couple of Micron MT48LC16M16A2TG-75 chips to arrive from Digi-Key to try again. RE: SB5101 ugd to 16m Ram - donkey01 - 25-11-2009 DigiKey shipped quick! Just got my MT48LC16M16A2TG-75 chip and worked. Thanks Drewmerc for your help! RE: SB5101 ugd to 16m Ram - cushion - 15-12-2009 Here are some part numbers for your reference, hope it helps: 16M 16bit micron MT48LC8M16A2 ( 2 Meg x 16 x 4 banks ) icsi(issi) IC42S16800/IC42S16800L -7T AMIC A43L3616V-7 (2M X 16 Bit X 4 Banks ) samsung K4S281632H -TC75 hynix HY57V281620B(L)T (4 Banks x 2M x 16-Bits ) 32M 16bit micron MT48LC16M16A2 (4 Meg x 16 x 4 banks) samsung K4S561632D (4M x 16bit x 4 Banks) K4S561632D-TC/L60 166MHz(CL=3) K4S561632D-TC/L7C 133MHz(CL=2) K4S561632D-TC/L75 133MHz(CL=3) hynix HY57V561620B(L/S)T (4 Banks x 4M x 16Bit ) HY57V561620BT-6 166MHz HY57V561620BT-K 133MHz HY57V561620BT-H 133MHz elpida ds2516apta 64M 16bit micron MT48LC32M16A2 ( 8 Meg x 16 x 4 banks ) samsung K4S511632B-TC(L)75 32Mb x 16 (CL=3) 133MHz (8M x 16Bit x 4 Banks SDRAM) also attach some pictures, most laptop ram module are with 16bit rams, like this one: here are some good rams: also some other 16bit rams: RE: SB5101 ugd to 16m Ram - ABMJR - 16-12-2009 @Rajo you dont need the shield over the bcm3349 at all...its just there for FCC approval sake or something...the shield over the tuner MIGHT do something, but i doubt it too, and i think that more pics are required (simply showing the start and end result isnt going to show anyone anything) The shield over the tuner DOES help as it is there to keep ingress from outside RF signals from causing the "can" to lose PLL sync with its own internal L.O (Local Oscillator) and also to allow it to "work" well in the FCC's Part 15 Rules enviornment.. RE: SB5101 ugd to 16m Ram - ricktendo - 05-10-2014 First off, thank you for sharing this awesome info. Going to attempt this with my SB5101 & WRT54Gv6 and would like to know: Which of these three 16M ram chips (I have on hand) is technically best/fastest?
