cutting cable

I want to move my STB and modem to a different location in the house - further away than the current cabling will reach. What 'variety' of cable do I need to buy, and what tools/items do I need in order to add those screw/washer connectors to the ends when I cut it?

Use RG-6/u cable and go to Home Depot and buy some crimp connectors and a cable crimp tool...a pair of wire cutters will also be needed....very simple You may also be able to buy a pre-cut cable and just get an F-81 barrel to splice them together
