it's your only choice i'd guess the password storage locations are different between the 2 firmwares, simply it's looking in the wrong place for the stored pass

Well it was flashed over using the haxorware upgrade page. The tutorial said I had to flash the ambit 250 telnet firmware first over jtag then tftp the infinite firmware.
