Jr gave you the answer then. You can change ip's but it prob isn't very stealthy to do it too often. It depends on your ISP and how hard they look at that. You want to blend in with what is in your node. If I run a hardcore d2 cfg in my node it stands out and will not last very long. Your average home user does not change cpe macs often so it might raise a flag if you push the issue...Docsis 1 allowed annonymity by using a rogue cm, but d3 makes annonymity virtually impossible. Go to Cisco.com and compare the available features between d3 and d1.
