No power lights when plugged in... need help
#1
I was using an lpt cable to flash a 2mb to my sb5100, I don't know what happened exactly. But afterwards when you plug in the power cable all the lights come on for about 3 seconds and go out. They never come back on and the modem just doesn't boot.
I had backed up the 2mb orignal from when the modem was booting, it was Sigma X2. I've tried to reflash that, new boot loader, a differ 2mb dump and everything.. The lights still don't come on once plugged in, other than for a few seconds. I've tried everything and read everything. I now have a blackcat USB jtag and i'm still trying to sort out how to get the modem just to boot again.

Any ideas? thanks so much!

if it's still recognizing the flash, i'd try just flashing the bootloader and try updating via ttl/serial even without that i'd still try the tosp reset trick

I've tried about 20 some times no kidding, with the blackcat usb jtag and with my lpt cable. I can detect the flash no problem in any program. I done some commands with toms jtag utility, and it all recognizes the flash no prob.
But no matter what I do when I plug the power cable in all lights light up for about 3 seconds, and then no lights at all. No activity or any lights ever again.

I've tried flashing the sigma bootloader and everything, I've got a 2mb dump that I've written back and all. It detects my firmware in shwarztekats or wahtever, I just can't seem to get the modem to light up after plugged in for a few mins.

Any idae of EXACT bootloader or firmware to try? Or even an original stock flash to do back to it?
thanks for your help

I got it working, doing what I been doing for 2 days now.. I guess the 7000th time doing it made it work. I didn't have to do any wire trick or any unbrick fix. I redid the flash, bootloader and firmware many differ times. Thanks for the help tho!

Buy a Usbjtagnt, and then use the Poke method, it will revive it.
There instructions on their site.

hi mate, iv revived quite a few of these by doing a quick swap with an unmodified modem.
basically u hook up orig modem with same flash chip, untick verify, detect flash chip once detected swap it over to the bricked one,and write original dump to bricked one,all should be good, worked a treat for me.all i use it parajtag that i made
