Modems aren't working.
#1
Hello everyone, recently TWC changed their certs in my area so all of the modems i had are no longer working... I was sent a new one which is in working condition I wanted to backup the new one and upload to the older modems I have to see if that would fix it, BUT there's a slight problem.. With this new modem I got I can't access the Haxorware CP i type in the IP and the page doesn't load, I haven't been informed of why, so here i am.. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks alot, I did manage to find the ip and access the settings, thats a step foward, but there seems to be a username and password. Authorization is required...

Apparently the ip was 2.5.8.0 but it seems to be dynamic, the ip was different before i reset the modem.

Again.. my goal here is to backup and upload to old defective ones.

I've come to find out that i can find out the username and password, I need a max232 cable and hyperterminal on windows, then theres a command line that shows the username and pass.. now im considering to buy this cable but which one exactly is for scientific atlanta modems, or can be used on this modem.. help anyone?

there is no telnet command to find it in haxorware as the memory location is dynamic (so wherever you saw this it's wrong or for 5100mod)

simply put you need to jtag it, to backup the full firmware then open the dump in a hex editor
(saying that it may still be possible to do it with a max cable and softjtag, but softjtag is a crappy unstable pos, i should try this method but i'm lazy but if you want to give it a go just buy a cheap $3 usb ttl cable off ebay)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVte_FsC3LQ you only need to do steps 1-4

once you have done the above open the dump you saved in step 4 in a hex editor and search for the word password (the password will be the next word)
