question about Buying premodded modems

I was thinking of getting a pre modded modem on ebay and wanted to know what I should i know before buying. Im told you cant just plug them in and use it so what do you need?

dont buy a premod, learn how to do it yourself because it's a thing you will need to know (due to the fact that you will need to dump a subbed modem to get online anyways)

you need prov cert. If you find one not from your node but near your place then you have a great change to be surfing.
