R0adRunner CLT area
#1
had a sb5101 w/haxoware on BPI+ bypass for the past 8 months up!

Came home from work and it was down. (receive light flashing...)

From what I can tell this means they implemented new security correct?

Do i need to spoof the software version and pick another mac (have TONS of working ones..)

Do I need to get the certs off my subbed modem?

My subbed modem is a pcx2600...

Any help would be great!

your right first thing to do is check your spoof and change your mac also try different bpi

I see there is a software spoof thread for Comcast.. Is there a software string that Roadrunner is going to look for? Do I need to use vlutureware to look at it?

(this post is made while drunk)
put certs on and changed the mac (i truly am loling)
if you put certs on, you do not change the mac as the certs are tied to the mac
changing the mac will change the certs to self signed certs
if your putting certs on a modem you leave it as is (well i change the spoof so it matches the mac/cert that the modem is from)

i've reread the above 5 times and it looks right(but all the loling is putting me off, yes it is funny)

I would go to SBH and post in their ISP section for RR.

You have no idea what certs even are, as your post says you have added them (?) then changed the MAC(?)

ABMJR & drewmerc....

Dream: I may have been a little drunk when i posted this. Ha. I guess I see the futility in loading certs off a stock 5100 that i extracted (5 different files) using my homemade p-jtag and Toms JTag-utility. I guess I need to change my mac and load the certs and then hook up the cable and see if it syncs up. I mean this badboy does not even sniff getting a solid send light anymore. That is why I had my GF bring over her old Stock Ambit modem. From what I could tell it would sync up... WTF?!

Sbhacker used to be very helpful like 2 years ago.. Now everyone is SUPER guarded there and understandably so.... But it is not nearly as easy to navigate as it was a few years back... I wish I had hours and hours to dedicate to this but I just started a new gig and it is taxing right now.

I appreciate your guys feedback.

I am going to change the mac to a VALID one and THEN load the certs and see what the 5101 will do. I am guessing it needs to be set to BPI docsis 1.1 correct?

THanks

Well...Loading certs how? Are you re-injecting them? Is the Bin they are from a valid , subbed account?

BPI + is most likely being forced in many areas...
