Okay, here goes.....1st off, I am no techie, not in anyway whatsoever, so please be kind.

I bought a "pre-modded" SB5101. I have no clue exactly what that means, except that it has never "been assigned" any IP info?

I have not the slightest clue what to do with it now. Do I use that jtag thing.....or no?

I really want to learn, but Im really in the dark. if anyone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction, and really help, I would definitely appreciate it. I know that a lot of people get pretty mad when newbies ask to be spoon fed..........and for that I am offering a preemptive apology, because I really am clueless.

copy the hfc mac from your subbed modem and enter it in the address page of haxor reboot (you could also enter the downstream frequency but haxor can find it on its own)
after the reboot if it does not go online have a look at the event log why (yes it's cryptic but a search of the error code should help, most likley bpi)

yes i did overly simplify the answer but honestly thats the first thing you need to do
and just watch were the modem fails to go online
