Hook up serial cable to 4 pins that are visible at the second photo.
Power up the device, while its booting do the shorting trick with spi flash.
Flash what ever you want with unlocked bootloader.

This Arris modem have Jtag port but only clone you can clone it, other from that take Neo advice!
