SB5100 bricked - need recovery instructions

Hi All,

looks like I bricked my SB5100 (not SB5101E).

After power on, POWER and SEND LED are not on, the others com on only for two seconds. ETH conection will not be established.

Schwarze Katze 128 - connected via parallel JTAG is available - and only the firmware files that were available on the black cat CD.

I made a backup of the full flash some time ago (original motorola flash), but after a restore of this backup, the result does not change.

Question: how do I recover the modem ?

On Schwarze Katze 128 I can see the SB5100 tab, but where do I even begin - and which file goes where ? What offset do I need to put in when flashing ?

Normal method of debrick by erase the flash and sprogram the boot.
erase 9fc00000 200000
ldram boot (good firmware)
sprogram 9fc00000 200000

Method 2.
detect
ldram boot (Select proper boot file)
erase boot
sprogram boot (Slow programming)
Power off and on SB5100
detect
ldram 9fc00000(Select the backed up file)
program 9fc00000 200000
cmpram 9fc00000 200000

stop using katz and start using toms jtag

Worked. Using Toms JTAG. Will abandon Katz 4ever now. Thank you.

No.. the erase command is not recognized by jtag utility or blackcat

stop using usbjtag commands and use toms jtag commands, erase is pointless and unneeded (same for sprogram your bit banging)
