I was merrily scanning the network using Fastcert for the millionth time out of boredom and I noticed I am seeing more of these
MAC-14 test image for CWXX; FACTORY MODE
so I walked one and it identified itself as a
sysDescr.0 MAC-14 test image for CWXX
sysObjectID.0 1.3.6.1.4.1.1166.6120.1.0.1.0.5.0
sysUpTime.0 89695875
sysContact.0 Motorola Corp
sysName.0 SB6120
sysLocation.0 Motorola USA
so I am wondering, what exactly are these used for?
Is this a modem just sitting on the network in factory mode, or is this the way D3 modems identify themselves to Fastcert as Fastcert is not properly able to identify them?
