Hello everyone,
I'm pretty new to this, but I've had some experience with firmware hacking-- Put dd-wrt on my netgear router, put ubuntu on my netbook (fun stuff without a CD drive...) and put a custom ROM on my phone. HOWEVER!! I've never played with a modem before... I actually have two (2) Webstart DPC2100r2's-- However, they've come out with a firmware update and I was having problems with it so I figured I'd try the method posted under: http://haxorware.com/forums/attachment.php?aid=166
However, because of the firmware update I don't think I can do this anymore, tried several times and no luck. The hidden pages on the modem are now also gone, i.e. 192.168.100.1/_aslvl.asp, etc, etc everything except for gscan.asp. Is there any way I can do this without getting a JTAG cable and opening it? (I've opened it before, just don't have the cable and don't want to put WinXP on my desktop, it's slow enough.)
Any response would be greatly appreciated, all of you are experts in this area compared to me. Thanks alot!
