Yeah, you shared that with me before. It's nicely done, however. It's more or less for the specific devices they mention in the wiki and too much work to edit it for my purposes. The image I'm working with is zlib compressed and I can extract it without the need for the tools in firmware-mod-kit. It does have a "fix crc" routine in it, but it may not apply to my particular application.
Here's "zpipe" which after you compile it, you can "deflate" or "inflate" zlib compressed images (as long as you know were the compression headers are).
I suspect the compressed firmware image is checksummed. I just need to figure out how..
