You need much more than an HFC MAC, your missing all the certificates (CVC's)..
Serial number is not necessary...
I know nothing about Ambit modems, but I can say, your B308.1'ed until you inject the certs from that modem into yours. Not an easy task for 2 different modems with different mapped areas and , I can almost bet the HAL values are wrong between the 2...
There is nothing I know to point you to except to dump the Ambit and use a Hex editor and attempt to locate the certs and the co-signed CVC...I have no idea how you will make the co cvc work, as they are 2 totally different modems , and with different HAL's
