"ONLINE" Blinking, can't connect. SB5101 Roadrunner (TWC) - sandman1967 - 15-04-2011 Hey guys, I'm new here and still learning about testing. I had an SB5101 that was working fine and the internet was working. Anyway, up till last week it stopped working. I changed the MAC Address and still nothing, all lights would stay on normally except for "ONLINE" which just kept blinking then it would reset itself. Same thing happened to my neighbor so I'm guessing it wasn't the box and roadrunner implemented new security. I am currently subscribed with TWC but the internet speeds are way too slow for Vonage and it's using another SB5101 that's unmodded. Can the modded box be used for faster speeds or a way to get it back online?....Thanks. RE: "ONLINE" Blinking, can't connect. SB5101 Roadrunner (TWC) - ABMJR - 15-04-2011 Changing the MAC address invalidates your internal certificates. BPI + is being forced. There are ways, but its up to you to read and apply RE: "ONLINE" Blinking, can't connect. If I open up an flash my new sb5101 modem that I got from TWC and extract the cerst from it and inject them to my older modded one. Will that help my modded one get back online and get faster speeds?....or am I way off? Thanks for the reply, btw. RE: "ONLINE" Blinking, can't connect. SB5101 Roadrunner (TWC) - ABMJR - 15-04-2011 They cant both be on-line at the same time, the modded modem needs to have the self signed firmware updated. But why use your Subbed modem, as this ties you to it. Very dangerous IMO. If you read the CMTS Tutorials I have over at SBH, you would most likely figure a way around the current security. There are ways, I can attest to that, but they are no longer posted for obvious reasons. RE: "ONLINE" Blinking, can't connect. I have tried searching on sbh but they have a 5 word limit, and using google "sitebhacker cmts tutorials" doesn't give me much either..Thanks in advance! RE: "ONLINE" Blinking, can't connect. SB5101 Roadrunner (TWC) - sandman1967 - 19-04-2011 Ok....small update. I read some of your tutorials...and most of them as I read them they were giving me diabetes.....lol...seriously though. I disabled some settings and changed the BPI settings and got it online...with the same information it had before. I'll admit I was a little shocked. Anyway I'm gonna post some of the Log bvecause it's getting some "Critical" errors and would like to know what they mean. Thank you. I am having trouble getting online again myself. i think bpi+ is required in the area now and i am having problems getting the certs valid and what not. is there any other hints or tip you would probably provide? |
