Clean Windows Install - Boot Critical Drivers - geoneo111 - 07-12-2016
Hey guys,
I'm trying to install a clean copy of win7 64 bit on an HP PC. I'm getting this error message:
Windows Setup could not install one or more boot-critical drivers. To install Windows, make sure that the drivers are valid, and restart the installation.
I tried installing via USB and also DVD. I understand it may have to do with signed drivers.
Further messages are:
Load Driver
To install the device driver needed to access your hard drive, insert the installation media containing the driver files, and then click o.k.
Note: The installation media can be a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive.
Can anyone help me?

unplug everything except the bear minimum (cpu, ram, boot hdd,mouse/keyboard wired if possible) and use the intergrated gfx if any
and try disabling any other crap in the bios
i do wonder why your not installing windows 10

There is no integrated graphics card. Hmm, I was using a wireless keyboard and mouse. O.k. I switch to a wired one. Not sure if that would help. No other extra drives or hardware.
I'll look again at the bios.

Why not install Windows 10. In one word telemetry.

Windows 10 is very good, I refused to give up Win 7 for 8 or 8.1, but 10 has proven itself to work with the typical low level viruses I use in hacktivating software. Other programs that windows 8 simply refused to run.

O.k. so the problem was in the bios, under SATA controller. For some reason the default is RAID. Once I switched it to AHCI I was able to install win 7. Although now I'll change it to win 10. Thanks fellas. Peace.
