how to install a firmware with .p7 extension - jofre - 08-06-2015 Hi folks So i decided to bring some old dead modems to life - magjack fried during a thunderstorm and i was not able to access 192.168.100.1 I managed to re-flash it, it's a sb5101, but my ethernet port is dead, so all I have left is the usb port - which will not work on x64 windows system - unless - it's newer firmware So the question is: how can I update the firmware using a .p7 file? I read there's a way to remove the header and rename it to .bin but I don't know how to do it it needs to be SB5101-2.8.3.0-GA-01-455 or above I flashed I virgin 2mb file before installing haxor I have newer firmware files but I'm not sure how to proceed - the files are not 2mb in size (smaller), should I flash the firmware files OVER the 2mb virgin dump or can I flash the firmware and then haxor?!! ![]() thank you btw, one of the modems is really f**d up. I´m trying to hard debrick it, short circuiting with the 3.3v techinique but things are not pretty...all lights blinking at the same time ![]() RE: how to install a firmware with .p7 extension - andytg - 08-06-2015 see screencast upd. on the upper image - eCos firmware (sb5101, dpc2100r2), the lower - vxWorks (sb5100, dpc2203 etc) RE: how to install a firmware with .p7 extension - Canis-Major - 08-06-2015 Remove the following amount of bytes from the beginning of the file using any decent hex editor: If Docsis: 1604 bytes If Euro-Docsis: 1527 bytes RE: how to install a firmware with .p7 extension - jofre - 08-06-2015 Thank you! hey, andytg AV detected some threats on your .exe file RE: how to install a firmware with .p7 extension - andytg - 08-06-2015 (08-06-2015, 04:21 PM)jofre Wrote: Thank you! it is not my file, I found it on http://sysadmins.ru/topic247182-15.html AVG did not find it any viruses RE: how to install a firmware with .p7 extension - jofre - 09-06-2015 how should I flash all the files? here's how I'm trying to do 1. flash the 2mb virgin file using ldram/program 9fc00000 200000 2. flash the newer firmware file over the the 2mb - is that right? - using again ldram/program 9fc00000 200000 3. flash haxor with ldram/program 9fc10000 130000 is that correct? RE: how to install a firmware with .p7 extension - Canis-Major - 09-06-2015 Sysadmins was great until it got the ru domain.. open file with hex and match off with another scource, because I've never known a firmware to flag as virus Malwarebytes is so commercial I believe even they would start deleting files most DONT need under the guise of 'POTENTIALLY' unwanted programs.. like anti virus's do with modem tools, bios tools etc.. |
