ISP Block Modem Model - geoneo111 - 26-12-2012 Hey guys, Is there a way to make a an SB5100 look like a SB5101 to the ISP? I want to test something. RE: ISP Block Modem Model - marcin888888 - 26-12-2012 what isp ? RE: ISP Block Modem Model - southernyankey1970 - 26-12-2012 Depends on how tight the CMTS firmware is. If you spoof it with the current 5101 firm you might make it, but it's doubtful in a high sec area. I'm just wondering because no matter what I do with the SB5100 I can't get it online but with my SB5101 its good. I figure it's the ISP or CMTS doing something to block it. RE: ISP Block Modem Model - southernyankey1970 - 26-12-2012 why would they block it? It's still on the T/W cpe device page isn't it? Do a Dhcpforce scan of your node for an hour or two, i bet you see 5100's... If it is not getting a d/s lock no matter what bin you flash to it then it could be a bad tuner.(5100s are getting old) What are your signal levels on the 5101? |
