Found sb4100 on system - haroldstein - 15-10-2012

I was bored today, so I did a dhcp scan and found a
sb4100 with a silver_c01.cm.
This was on Comcast, not sure but does the 4100
capable of doscis 2.0?

I don't think the sb4100 is capable of doscis 2.0.

RE: Found sb4100 on system - ABMJR - 15-10-2012

No...The Tuner is a 3.2 Mhz TDMA

Its not D2 in any way

There was some Moron on here from outside Chicago that swore you could use Linux and upgrade the hardware to make it 6.4 Mhz..

I would venture to say, that the 4100 might be on the way out,
EOL units. But can the 4100 due bpi+ ?

RE: Found sb4100 on system - ABMJR - 16-10-2012

Yes, it can, but it cant do ATDMA, and most are ATDMA 6.4, not TDMA 3.2

I did a ipconfig/all on my pc. and on windows configuration
next to node it says Hybrid, so is that why the 4100 is working.

RE: Found sb4100 on system - ABMJR - 16-10-2012

Yes, Hybrid mode allows the 2 modulation schemes to co-exist

,

does the 4100 also use the cvc handshake?
going to do more scans and see how many more
4100,4200 on line.

RE: Found sb4100 on system - ABMJR - 16-10-2012

I imagine it would...

Dont confuse TDMA with ATDMA and BPI + with CO-CVC

Co-CVC would be an extra method for the ISP to validate a CM

BPI + is also a 56 bit low level encryption for traffic between the CMTS and the CM..

Security is validation of injected certificates and the Co-Signed CVC

All are unique above what I just mentioned
