ok first i knew of this is when tropical posted it in a poll so i kept my eye out

looks like your telcos are going to get a kick up the ass with this one, tho i do see lawsuits and inquires in every place this tries to roll out (as is the american way)

for now yes but google have been laying fiber for years ok it was only between there data centers but they have branching off that to create a large dark fiber network (if the rumors i ave read are true)

this will make our money hungry companies drop prices and raise speeds, at the same time (in the areas where google is working). this might also upset the people in congress that are in the pocket of those companies. screw all of those greedy bastards. i dare them to seek a bail out from the government if google does hurt them enough. that shit won't fly here twice, too big to fail means to stupid to stay in business. i hope the retards of this country have learned that lesson by now.

$300 for 7years with 5mb/sec is not free but it is very very cheap, the bigger question is how much is a household's advertising/information worth

That is really cheap and I signed up on the site but of course it isn't in my area but they would keep me posted. And I'm sure that google would make more than enough money just off the advertising (not to mention the information gathering) to supply not only one household (but several more) with that type of service (5mb/sec) but probably more at no extra cost to them.
