Help connecting to BlackCat - PumaTechTV - 19-07-2012 Hey guys! I was attempting to flash my modem through my new pc using blackcat, but the program was unable to identify my modem. My modem is the sb5100. What my real question is: Can you use PCI cards with blackcat? If not, why? I just bought the SD-LP-MCS1P SYBA low-profile LPT PCI card. Will this card work? Thanks. RE: Help connecting to BlackCat - drewmerc - 19-07-2012 no, no, no pci cards don't work (ok some do but it's hit and miss) http://www.haxorware.com/forums/thread-352-post-1896.html#pid1896 RE: Help connecting to BlackCat - drewmerc - 19-07-2012 (19-07-2012, 06:41 AM)Tropical Wrote: Dam I Feel Like An Idiot Now. don't, it's one of those things thats is never mentioned mostly because it never comes up once in 5 years (try searching pci 6 posts only 1 is relevant after a quick scan) just lucky my brain was working this morning and remembered a post from years back (i could have missed this easily) RE: Help connecting to BlackCat - PumaTechTV - 19-07-2012 (19-07-2012, 06:37 AM)drewmerc Wrote: no, no, no pci cards don't work (ok some do but it's hit and miss) Really? That sucks. I made sure the card had the ability to be remapped to legacy I/O addresses. Does that make a difference? Here are the card specs: Quote:PCI lower profile single port parallel card The link to the site of my card is this one http://www.sybausa.com/productInfo.php?iid=716 Also, do you happen to know what addresses blackcat searches for the lpt port? Thanks. Oh and thanks for the PM. RE: Help connecting to BlackCat - drewmerc - 19-07-2012 well lucky you i'm 80% sure it will work, after a quick bit of googlefu (searching the chip on the board) came up with this saying it works with a jtag programmer (last review) http://www.dealextreme.com/feedbacks/BrowseReviews.dx/sku.4638 so seeing as it's the same chip it should work (i guarantee nothing) RE: Help connecting to BlackCat - PumaTechTV - 19-07-2012 Thanks for the link to the review. I will confirm and post back here if this PCI card works in a few days when I pick it up. Thanks for all the help.
