SB4200 Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance - ncb - 28-11-2011
I'm trying to clone from Sb5101 to SB4200. I've put SB4200-1.4.9.9-SCM02-Nosh firmware into the SB4200 and turn it into Factory mode. I can inject all cert and change MAC address for SB4200 but it cannot online. The web log has error:
Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance, T4 Timeout.
I'm not sure, maybe SB4200 is too old and I cannot use it anymore in Southern CA or I made some things wrongs?

from a 5101 to a 4200 is not possible in anyway shape or form

In theory, I can use snmp to get all certs form SB5101 and inject those into SB4200 and also change MAC its MAC.
And the SB4200 SB4200-1.4.9.9-SCM02-Nosh is Docsis 1.1 so why it cannot work?

how are you putting the SB4200-1.4.9.9-SCM02-Nosh firmware into the Sb5101 modem?? are u using a jtag cable to flash it

I did not put SB4200-1.4.9.9-SCM02-Nosh firmware into SB5101. I just get certs from SB5101 and put SB4200-1.4.9.9-SCM02-Nosh firmware into SB4200, switch it to factory mode and inject all certs into it.

wait not having used a 4200 in the last few years are you telling me that the certs from a 5101 can be injected into a 4200 without having to worry about the size and/or memory locations if so what makes it impossible to do this with the 5100

I've tried to get certs from Sb5101 and inject those into SB5100 without any problem.
Actually, I've to flash my SB4200 by full flash backup to change it to SB4200-1.4.9.9-SCM02-NOSH. I'm not sure, maybe this flash make this modem cannot connect to CMTS anymore.

I'm trying to debrick my SB4200. I've try to use some of SB4200 fix scripts but my modem always stop when trying to get the upstream with T4 timeout error. I think that I need to set the upstream channel or FactDef somthings for it by telnet but when I put SB4200 Hackware shell firmware to it to try telnet but I don't know abut User name and Password of Telnet SB4200 Hackware. Somebody has any idea?

you could always looks thru the dump with a hex editor and hope you can see it
