all thats is needed is a data cable for a Nokia phone, CA-42 (or DKU-5).
OK I've got those now, but when I connect it to the webstar, all I get is garbage characters. I'm using putty and normally use 11520 N81, but I've also tried just about all the settings available, and all I get still is garbage scrolling. Do I need to flash with noisyboot.bin too? the webstar came from moto modz, don't know if that is in there or needed, sorry if that's a dumb question.

Any ideas?

Interesting part is, with a SB5101 with the breakout elite pre-installed by Dev and the same setup in putty, it works just fine.

Thanks

you do know that the pin out on the telnet port is different on the webby (just like the jtag)

no idea of the pin configuration of the breakout board could just be different email dev and ask him the config (this way you'll be able to swap the wire round to fit both if they are different)

heres a pic of my old max cable dual headed just for this reason (tho for webby's and ambits)
