It depends on your ISP and how hard they look at that. You want to blend in with what is in your node. If I run a hardcore d2 cfg in my node it stands out and will not last very long. Your average home user does not change cpe macs often so it might raise a flag if you push the issue...Docsis 1 allowed annonymity by using a rogue cm, but d3 makes annonymity virtually impossible. Go to Cisco.com and compare the available features between d3 and d1. |
